“And I suddenly thought, what am I doing?”
There must be about my 120, 130 countries I’ve been to. I travel all over the place. I like to go by myself. I don’t know I just like it. People think I’m insane for going to some of the places I’ve gone to by myself. Like all over Africa, South America, Central America. And I’d like to find the way out places to go to.
I always wanted to be a tourist but then I got married when I was 18, started having children by 21. By the time the children are grown up, whatever, then my husband left me so, I would’ve been 40. When I got to 45 I realized I had one child living in America, one child living in England, one child moved back in with his dad, and I suddenly thought, what am I doing? I can go anywhere I like. I usually work for a year, have six months off or a year off, and save my money. It is really nice, really really nice. And I find you can do it very cheaply. I can just walk for miles, look and look at things. I’m perfectly happy.
I have a ladybug and it is in my bag back at the room. My youngest daughter gave it to me. She is a traveler as well. It is called a love bug. Around its little neck is all different little things she has given me and other people have given me, like a little thing for happiness. I feel I can’t travel without it or something will go wrong.
