“It changed me for the better. I can definitely say that”
Growing up in my neighborhood was very very tough, being gay, being light skin, being everything that wasn’t associated with my neighborhood was always very very very tough for me. Bullied almost every day in my neighborhood and in my school. I went to school with the kids in the neighborhood. But I never felt like it was weighing heavy on me. I never felt like it was too much to handle. I felt it was one of those things I had to go through and it has definitely made me a better person. It taught me patience. It taught me understanding of people and it taught me how to navigate and how to talk to people and how to have a feel for other people who are like me. It changed me for the better. I can definitely say that.
I have a sock monkey. It was given to me by my best friend. I used to be a sock monkey crazed person. It’s actually 4 feet tall, it’s extremely big and his name is Barth. Barth gives me a peace of mine. My best friend isn’t here. I love him dearly so every time I see him, I miss my best friend, but I’m happy he gave me that.
