It doesn’t matter where I come from, as long as I’m a decent person

It’s interesting. I’ve gotten to meet a lot of people that are like me because of my family, I’m the only one that likes just being out there, being like this, just being a nerd basically. And I love it, it’s amazing. It sucks that I’m alone in it. 

I don’t really come from a very nice family. So a break like this is always fun. [Being at AnimeExpo] I always get to meet new people, and see friendly new faces, supportive people. It really means a lot to me. No matter what my background is, where I come from, it doesn’t matter where I come from, as long as I’m a decent person. Being into anime has inspired me to be a little bit more open in the world and share my love for something that I really love to do. 

I didn’t have any stuffed animals. I didn’t grow up with very many toys either. I’m not even sure how I spent my childhood. I didn’t have very many toys, I spent it alone, I didn’t have anybody to play with.  I sat alone in a room just watching TV.
