“Everyone is kind of different, an outsider, looking for a place to fit in”
I grew up an only child and left handed and with that, it caused me to become way more independent than many of my peers. It seemed like my peers wanted to stay together but because of my independence it encouraged me to always travel and to always do other things. I’ve been traveling a lot and exercise a lot. I run marathons, triathlons.
I grew up in a very conservative area and my family is incredibly liberal . And that is where all my values have always fallen as well. It kind of made me a loaner in school because of this. I never really had a super tight knit friend group. I was friends with a lot of people but not good friends with any group.
It has encouraged me to spread my wings and fly, meet new people to go to new places and to find more similarities. In the end everyone is kind of different, an outsider in their own way, looking for a place to fit in.
When I was growing up and I still have one, it always stuck with me. She was a little Waterbaby. Her name is Allie. She’s very sweet. And I have a green blankie. I always slept with that. They were kind of a comfort, always there for me.
