Expect nothing and appreciate everything

The biggest adversity that I had to overcome was the passing of my mother at the age of 14 and growing into adulthood without having your mother there. There was always a question of why it happened or what was it for. I think it was for, now that I have a nonprofit, because of the area, she was a disadvantage individual, not having the same opportunities as somebody that had or lived in a better area, or had more money. Your zip code is a direct representation of your health. I think me overcoming her death, being able to turn it into a positive light or making sure that somebody else's mother or father, brother, sister have a chance to have a longer lifespan. It has made me more healthier. It's made me more aware and appreciative of things. Nothing is promised. It's made me have an attitude of expect nothing and appreciate everything. My nonprofit is called the Greenhouse Projects based in Inglewood. It brings health and nutrition and brings young men and boys of color into a healthy adulthood, making college mandatory as is high school. I had a Mickey Mouse. It was given to me as a child. It's a representation of my childhood and the love that was behind it. I still have it to this day. It's a memory for me of, even though my mother passed away I still had a great family support. That was beneficial for me. The Mickey Mouse is a representation of my family. And it offered comfort I want to include my purse in the photo please. Celebrate difference and diversity.
