“It was hard to adjust but I got there”
I am 22 years old and I am from London, England. I grew up in England until I was five years old. Then when I was five I moved to Washington DC because of my dad’s job. I was there for four years. I grew up there as a young British girl. People thought I couldn’t spell, actually it’s a different language. Even math was different, the long division and short division. It was hard to adjust but I got there. So I was very different to everyone but I managed to fit in pretty well.
Then when I was nine years old I moved back to England. I had an American accent in everything. I really didn’t know anyone my age there because I was so young when I had moved. I made friends again and grew up there until March this year. I moved back to LA. I just embrace the experience. Now I have a great community of friends.
I did have a stuffed animal when I was 17. My ex-boyfriend gave it to me. It was a little monkey. My boyfriend used to call me Monkey. It gave me comfort, I think. And it used to smell of him so I used to sleep with it.
