I don’t have to rely on anything but my soul

I don't have to rely on anything but my soul
“I don’t have to rely on anything but my soul”

I am a jewelry maker. So when I’m making something, creating an idea, I absolutely cannot think about the possibility of rejection because that absolutely positively kills my creativity and there is something to be said for the compare and despair and I just can not go there as an artist.

So while I’m dealing with rejection I need to put rejection out of my sphere of creativity. And this gives me power back. I don’t have to rely on anything but my soul when I am working. I do not have to worry about the ego part of the making. It is very freeing, it opens up multitude of paths for me.

I just purchased a little Navajo leather doll who I named Otter because I respect the Native American culture and I have a little altar at home and I put her up on my little alter.

I recently found my Raggedy Ann doll in my closet. I just could never ever ever get rid of her,
and she is in shambles. She is missing her eye, she is pretty much torn apart but I will never ever get rid of her. She is of my childhood and that is important. That is my origin.
