“I don’t want to conform to their ideas”
One of the jobs I used to have in London was organizing trade fairs and exhibitions. I left one company and started on a new one. It was basically a computer base show. The problem is I’m dyslexic and everything at the computer based show was acronyms. I can sell really well, I was the top salesperson in my previous company but when it comes to acronyms they escape me.
The problem was they wouldn’t let me on the phone until I did this stupid pilot run-through of fake sales calls. They kept calling me up on not getting the acronyms right. They gave me the same task four days in a row with the same questions but I still couldn’t get the acronyms right because of my dyslexia.
I ended up leaving the company. The lesson from that was I don’t want to work for someone else. I don’t want to conform to their ideas. I need to be my own boss.
I grew up on a farm so we had living animals not stuffed animals.
