“I have more of an awareness of the differences”
It’s always kind of interesting going to India, although I am Indian I was born and raised in America. Going back seems weird because I feel that I am suppose to fit in, but I don’t fit in. I am kind of different.
I saw the negative impact of being a woman in India but this last time I put myself out there more and was less scared and ended up having an amazing time. It is this curious understanding that I am trying to gain of the country, so as an outsider I feel I have a different perspective, yet it feels really a part of me.
I have more of an awareness of the differences and being OK with the differences.
When I was little I had the pink Care Bear with the rainbow heart on its belly. It was kind of a security blanket.
