“When I remember that there is basic goodness in everyone then it gives me peace and hope. as long as we get in touch with it. I think sometimes people forget or were never shown, but once the person has the knowledge that there is goodness in them then that gets the ball rolling to grow, to change to make movement.
I am reading a poem that I wrote to remember and acknowledge the people who have lived on the streets and passed on. I lived on the streets too. I went to this women’s center in Pasadena and I wrote this poem when I discovered the women’s center which helped me get back on my feet. I read them a poem for Thanksgiving, that poem, and it so happen that the founder of the women’s room was there. She didn’t heard my poem but some of the women told her, so she invited me to read at the service and I thought, how can I not?
So I can definitely relate to Mr Wilson, your teddy bear.
I have been practicing a lot of self compassion and that is where it all comes from and I learned that the fear has prevented me from growing so that kind of has been my journey this year. Remembering kindness for me gets the ball rolling.”
