“I tried as much as I could to be normal”
I grew up in a cult in Thailand and that helped in keeping us secluded. The leader died and we all slowly mixed back into society and had to adapt. It was really difficult. We looked like rejects and acted like rejects, we couldn’t help it. It took a long time. I tried as much as I could to be normal and it was not realistic I guess.
Now I do artwork. I just go with it instead of trying to do what everyone else is doing and not worry about someone else’s opinion. My artwork allows me to be myself. There is a lot of pressure in this country to be part of what everyone is, dress like them, look like them and do what they do. It took a long time to get to the point where I didn’t care what people thought.
I didn’t have any stuffed animals when I was little.
