“They inspired me to find some real friends”
I’m usually extremely quite unless I’m working on something. I’m basically an introvert and that has inspired me to focus on my artwork so if I ever try to apply for a job I can get it. I can apply with confidence knowing that my portfolio will be acceptable for them. But at the same time if I’m not being social with everybody else then I feel there is nothing else going on for me.
I took the advice of a friend who told me to try to work different jobs to earn different kinds of income. For me it was like, I really want to be an animator. But my most recent job I’ve had was at Six Flags in the food industry. My biggest revelation when I was talking to one of my managers and I told her I always wanted to be an animator and I want to make enough money to get a car so that I can start applying for jobs in the studio. But she basically told me I don’t have a goal or dream like you do. I don’t have anything planned after I have this job. She started to tell me this story how one bad soccer game made her want to give up her dream of being a soccer player. After that she decided to work in the restaurant industry and she doesn’t have any other aspiring goals in life.
I use to have a bunch of Disney plushies when I was a kid but I gave them all away. In a way they inspired me to go into animation and to draw. In some strange aspect they inspired me to find some real friends.
