“It inspires me to stay true to me and pass it on to my kids”
When I was little I always liked dressing up and being my own person and it was wonderful. I had very supportive parents that always played with me and they watched my stage shows. When I started going to school it wasn’t as cool, it wasn’t what the whole group was doing. I joined the club’s but I really couldn’t be myself. I kind of just followed along and kind of put myself in the background. As I got older I discovered people that love to do the things that I do. I love making costumes, dressing up and making new friends. I found this lovely group. I feel like after all these years I can really just be myself. I didn’t know that there were people like this out there.
I have this little clown that my father made for me. His name is Paprikajunchy. That is what my father named him. He made him out of a little sock and drew his face. If you were to see him now he is pretty scary. He doesn’t look like your typical nice little thing. He’s special to me. My dad actually made him to be cute, but he’s different. He’s all faded and broken now but I love him. It’s a part of me. It always kept me liking things that meant something, more than it was just pretty off the shelf. It inspires me to stay true to me and pass it on to my kids.
