“Instead of struggling I was able to thrive”
I just moved back here from living in Berlin Germany for three years. I was dating an English girl in New York City. It was really hard for me to move to England and it was hard for her to come to America so we found Berlin to be easy. It was scary because I didn’t know any German. But we both were able to get really good jobs and learned the language enough to live and work there. We lived there for three years and got married.
I never thought I could move to another country where I did not know the language and be successful and make things work. I met so many amazing people there and I was actually able to get further in my career. Instead of struggling I was able to thrive and do really well.
I currently have a little cupcake stuffed animal and a pizza stuffed animal that was given to us in Germany. My wife is the cupcake and I’m the pizza. We have them hanging up and look at them everyday, it gives us some happiness.
When I was little I had a bear that my dad actually found. He brought it home and I washed it. It is a memory of being something that was very special to me. It wasn’t very pretty, it was very similar to your Brian Wilson bear. I think it was missing and eye. That didn’t matter to me, what mattered was that someone thought of me when they saw it and gave it to me.
