“I kind of built my own place to fit in”
I am an artist and a graphic designer now and growing up feeling kind of lonely and feeling kind of alone and not fitting in and it kind of helped me sharpen my talent in that way and find a lot of protection in myself and in my art. It was a safe place to be where I didn’t feel judged or rejected or I didn’t fit in. I kind of built my own place to fit in.
I had a blanket when I was little. I would roll it up and use it kind of like a stuffed toy, as a pillow. I kind of picked at it a little bit like an anxiety relief. I would take it with me and rub it on my face and pick at it. It would sooth me to sleep at night. It was a way to kind of get anxiety out.
