“Rejection is a daily thing but I embrace it”

I work in an industry full of rejection. Rejection is a daily thing but I embrace it. It just builds me. I’ve been different all my life. I’ve always been pretty much an outsider but I have a lot of friends. I’m the kid that sat at his own table, everybody sat with me as opposed to me going to their table. As a man I have been doing nothing but that, kind of staying in my own lane but some people like to drive in my lane too and it just works. I’m still a loner. I’m very comfortable with myself. My brother is 11 years my senior, so I was pretty much an only child for most of my years.
Just finding peace with myself and just creating, and being able to block out everything. Like, I put my phone on airplane mode some days, usually a Sunday and kind of like envision the world free of the Internet and live my life like that. I have an eight-year-old daughter. She has her iPad and we pick a day where there’s no talking sometimes. We just write to each other that’s how I got her penmanship right. She’s very articulate. She’s like an eight-year-old 20-year-old. That’s my greatest inspiration of all times. Seeing myself in my daughter is another big thing for me. She’s exactly like me but she’s light years smarter than me.

When I was little I had a plush toy, ALF. You press his stomach and he would say like rambunctious stuff. I feel like I have an ALF type of vibe about me, different like, from outer space. He was a different kind of individual. I could really relate to Alf.
